How and where is policy engagement recognised and rewarded in Higher Education, a new study by Prof Arlene Holmes-Henderson and Laidlaw Scholar Pippa Lewin highlights a major opportunity for UK universities: recognising policy engagement as part of academic workload. While policy engagement is happening across English HEIs, the research finds it is not yet consistently reflected in promotion criteria, research culture or university mission statements.
