https://www.soas.ac.uk/enterprise/

SOAS provides resources and knowledge about Africa, Asia and the Middle East to equip people for a global economy and a multicultural Britain.

The School's purpose is:

  • To advance through teaching and research the knowledge and understanding of Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
  • To contribute to the development of the School's academic disciplines.
  • To provide high quality education so that our students achieve excellence in their chosen subject or subjects and develop their intellectual and other core skills.
  • To promote and lead global public education in our areas of specialist expertise concerning Africa, Asia and the Middle East, both in the United Kingdom and around the world.

A Message from the Director, Baroness Valerie Amos

Welcome to SOAS, the world's leading centre for the study of Asia and Africa based in the heart of London.

Our website aims to give a flavour of the intellectual and cultural 'buzz' which is a distinctive feature of the School. With a student population of around 3,500 from over 100 countries, our relatively small size ensures that we offer a friendly and welcoming environment while at the same time being able to take advantage of all University of London facilities. SOAS has a long and distinguished history of widening the horizons of its students and helping them gain the skills needed for careers in an increasingly international environment.

This website also gives an overview of outreach activities and partnerships with business and community, through the SOAS Language Centre and SOAS Enterprise, as well as details of current exhibitions at the Brunei Gallery.

SOAS has a special atmosphere: distinctive, quirky, passionate and critical. It is a place that dares to be a little different.
