The University's ten academic schools cover a variety of subject areas at both undergraduate and postgraduate level including life sciences, creative arts, business, accountancy, computing, law, engineering, medicine, and dentistry. Our teaching is of the highest quality and is gold rated in the Teaching Excellence Framework.
Research at Dundee has been ranked among the very best in the UK in the latest Research Excellence Framework (2014). Over 30% of our funding comes from research and this translates into world-changing solutions for health, the environment and the economy. Our strong performance in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) has made us top in Scotland for research in these subjects.
Dundee has a high student population and is both a very friendly and cost-effective place to live. Set in beautiful countryside on the east coast of Scotland, it is a welcoming university city with plenty to see and do. Our compact city campus, market-leading accommodation and excellent support mean that our student experience is sector leading. For 3 years, we have ranked Top 10 in the UK for student experience (National Student Survey 2018).
Dundee is also an inspiring place to be, combining a rich history with modern transformation; the exciting £1billion Waterfront Project, focused around the V&A Museum of Design, is changing the face of the city centre. In 2014, Dundee was named UK's first UNESCO City of Design.
