The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) is a world-leader in the education and training of veterinary medicine, veterinary nursing, and biological science students. We are a research-led independent constituent college of the University of London and the largest veterinary school in the UK.

With over 2,000 students, the RVC is ranked second in the world for veterinary science (QS World Rankings by Subject 2020) achieving perfect scores for academic staff and research impact, and received a TEF Gold Award in 2017 for the quality of its teaching. The RVC was ranked first in the UK by its students for providing the best quality courses, and we have a strong heritage in achieving excellence. The RVC is also the home of Europe's largest small animal referral teaching hospital, an equine hospital, a farm and two first opinion practices including an exotics service, all of which have recently been rated as 'Outstanding' by The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons' Practice Standards Scheme.

The RVC is at the forefront of veterinary research. Nearly eighty percent of our research was rated world-leading or internationally excellent by the Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2014, making the RVC the leading Research England-funded veterinary-focused research institution. Much of our research has translational benefits helping improve both human and animal health. Our independent status means we are free to collaborate and are well placed to drive important advances in welfare and disease control in both animals and humans
