Lancaster University
Lancaster University is a research-intensive university ranked in the UK's top ten. Around 16,000 students from more than 100 countries choose to study at Lancaster because of our excellent reputation for research, teaching and student satisfaction. Lancaster is a truly global community with international collaborations all over the world and teaching partnerships in China, Malaysia, Ghana and Germany.
The Lancaster University campus in North-West England occupies a beautiful 560-acre green site, just three miles from Lancaster City Centre. Across the campus, we offer exceptional learning facilities, from the labs and lecture theatres in our Faculties, to the multi-million pound sports centre and outstanding library facilities. Lancaster is a collegiate university and has nine colleges which each provide students with small close-knit communities. Each college has its own history and traditions, creating a more supportive student environment and opportunities to get involved in a wide range of activities. Lancaster is one of only a small number of leading UK universities to operate a college structure.
Students from more than one hundred countries study at the Lancaster campus which is an open and welcoming community that values equality and diversity. The quality, reach and significance of research produced in Lancaster University's vibrant research environment is world leading. In the last Research Excellence Framework (the system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions), 83% of our research was rated as either internationally excellent or world leading. Research is undertaken in each of our Faculties with much of this being interdisciplinary and collaborative in nature.
