Dr Alison Clarke
Alison is a Research Associate at regional knowledge broker Insights North East. At UPEN, she supports the Practice work strand: aiming to strengthen the UK’s national brokerage infrastructure and improve coordination across the academic-policy ecosystem.
This means joining the dots between people, disciplines and ways of thinking, and creating those planned serendipity moments that spark learning and action.
She’s loved a good project ever since primary school, when she once spent my half-term holiday working on a pop-up Beaufort scale. She started out my career as a French/Italian translator, before pursuing a PhD in the history of art dealing and connoisseurship at the University of Liverpool/National Gallery. She then moved to Newcastle University, where she’s held a variety of Professional Services roles with an international, engagement and strategic focus.
Please do get in touch with her if you’d like to chat about knowledge mobilisation, trust and expertise, or the metaphorical joining of dots!
