Dr Ted Hayden

Ted is currently the Director of the Government Office for Science (GO-Science). His role is to oversee and run GO-Science to support the Government Chief Scientific Advisor and deliver on its mission to put excellent scientific advice at the heart of decision making. This includes overseeing crucial Government advice mechanisms such as the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) and the UK Council for Science and Technology, as well as lead the Government centre for Futures and Foresight.

Since completing a PhD in Physical Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, Ted has spent over a decade in government covering areas such as energy, infrastructure, industrial strategy, and transport. In his roles he has led on strategy development, policy, as well as project delivery.
