Julie is Senior Responsible Officer for The Young Foundation’s contributions to UPEN and her primary role is Interim Director of Sustainability and Just Transition at The Young Foundation.

Julie has leadership experience from across the research and innovation system having previously held senior roles in the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), and in higher education. Her research interests centre around place-based development and innovation, including several projects working with policy makers at regional and national levels. At The Young Foundation she is a member of the Executive Team and manages a diverse portfolio of projects focused on just transition and community participation in policy making.
