Rich works across UPEN Programmes on Place, leading work to explore how we can enhance the interface between knowledge creators and knowledge users when specific places, data, visualisation systems and collaborative spaces are in play.

He is also a Co-Chair of the Areas of Research Interest (ARI) Sub-Committee for UPEN and works to explore the utility and impact of all forms of ARIs.

In his day job, he is the Head of Nottingham Civic Exchange, which acts as a collaborative space between NTU expertise and insights and the outside world. He is fortunate to work across a wide range of topic areas to help make a difference. Be warned, he will at some point tell you about their research on hand car washes, which may cause you to reconsider your car washing habits
