Dr Chris Hewson

Chris Hewson is the Head of Policy Engagement at the University of Huddersfield, working across schools and functions in order to maximise the value of Huddersfield’s research and expertise to regional and national policy stakeholders.

As UPEN’s Director of Business Development and Partnerships, Chris will work with key stakeholders to build a long-term sustainability model, as the network further evolves into a national connective infrastructure between academia and public policy.

Chris has a background in the social sciences, having undertaken a PhD (on Community Media) at Lancaster University, and having served in a research and professional services capacity – latterly as a research impact manager – at a number of universities in the north of England.
