UPEN Communities of Practice (CoPs) are a collaborative space for sharing best practice, running dedicated events, and producing reports and activity that contribute to key areas of interest in the academic-policy engagement ecosystem. They are chaired by UPEN members and made up of knowledge brokers, academics, policymakers and external partners.

Areas of Research Interest Practitioners
The ARI Practitioners Community of Practice is a space for peer learning, exchange, and support for those in policy organisations and the academic community to develop and reflect upon ARIs as a mechanism for academic-policy engagement. This CoP is also part of our Programmes activity.

Dedicated to integrating arts and humanities evidence and practice into policy discourse and academic-policy engagement, the A&H CoP facilitates dialogue among academics, policymakers, and other policy actors.

By providing practical insights into engaging with different levels of government on various policy themes and acknowledging their diverse competences and structures, the Place CoP supports colleagues across the UPEN network on a regional/metropolitan basis. Research Communication in Curriculums
This Community of Practice, partnered with POST, aims to enhance student capability for policy literary and engagement, create a peer-supported space for academics to engage with evidence-informed policy practices, networks, and explore professional development opportunities through research and teaching responsibilities.
