Health Sciences University is a specialist institution operating at the intersection of education, applied research, and clinical practice. Our integrated model, bringing academic expertise and multi professional clinical delivery together within one ecosystem, positions the University as a strategic contributor to national and international health workforce development. By embedding research and innovation directly within clinical environments, the University generates insights that are immediately relevant to frontline service improvement and system level transformation.

The University’s strategic mission is to create a healthier society through education, research and clinical care. We are experts in musculoskeletal provision, as the only university in the UK with education and clinical offering encompassing all three musculoskeletal professions (physiotherapy, chiropractic and osteopathy).

Our courses span the breadth of professions allied to health, underpinned by patient facing CQC regulated clinical services and advanced simulation capabilities. These combined resources ensure that learners, practitioners, and partners benefit from a practice-led educational environment that strengthens professional readiness, enhances multidisciplinary collaboration, and supports the adoption of innovative models of care.

The Health Sciences University works closely with government bodies, NHS organisations, regulators, and professional associations to shape responsive, future focused workforce solutions. The University’s applied research portfolio is strategically aligned to priority areas such as workforce planning, clinical education reform, integrated care, and innovation adoption. Working from within active clinical environments ensures that research outputs are rooted in operational reality, supporting evidence informed decision making for policymakers, system leaders, and health service providers. Areas of established expertise include the development of new and extended professional roles, the design of practice based learning pathways, and the evaluation of service transformation initiatives.
