The London School of Economics

London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. We are unique in our dedication to social sciences, which includes framing areas like health, digital, and AI and the future of work.

LSE is ranked #2 in the world for social science and management (QS World University Ranking 2018). We have 23 academic departments, ranging from Economics to Government, Statistics to Law, and 22 research institutes covering issues from global health to the future of cities. One of our newest is the Marshall Institute, focused on maximising the public benefits of philanthropic foundations, social entrepreneurs, charities, NGOs and individual citizens through research, teaching and convening.

LSE’s approach is to challenge existing ways of thinking, and seek to understand the causes of things in order to improve and transform them. 18 Noble Prize winners have studied or taught at LSE, as well as 37 world leaders. We are home to a roster of world-leading global experts, rooted in London, and we are committed to building a vibrant and equitable environment. The School has a number of academics on think tank and NGO Boards, and special advisors on governmental bodies and reviews and Select Committees.

We form one of the most internationally diverse communities in the world – LSE’s researchers and students come from over 148 countries. Our student community is just under 12,000 plus over 750 Executive MSc students.
