University of London

The University of London is the UK’s leading provider of digital and blended distance education internationally, offering programmes to more than 40,000 students in 190 countries around the world. Although proudly rooted in London, our community and impact are global. We are also a federation of 17 esteemed higher education institutions, with collaboration at the heart of our ethos. The University of London federation is a collective community of more than 240,000 learners and 50,000 staff, delivering world-leading research across all disciplines.

London is a great city with great challenges – many of them exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, London is one of the world’s leading research and higher education capitals, with over 40 universities and thousands of university researchers. There is growing interest among policy makers and researchers in the potential of the city as a real-life laboratory and experimenting with innovative approaches to urban issues. The London Research and Policy Partnership (LRaPP) promotes joint working between London government and the academic research community, putting the capital in a position to lead the way.
