Back to team

Andrew has led economics research in many large-scale and interdisciplinary projects, working with a wide range of stakeholders including HM Treasury on valuing infrastructure and nature. He has published on value, growth, financialisation, wellbeing, and on systems of provision of various kinds, as well as on philosophy and methodology for cross-disciplinary research. Andrew was Economics Departmental Director of Research at the University of Leeds Faculty of Business from 2014 to 2023.

Building on his previous experience of policy engagement during large-scale research projects, Andrew has taken on several roles that are aimed directly at supporting academic-policy engagement, including as Academic Director of the Yorkshire and Humber Policy Engagement and Research Network, (Y-PERN) and through UPEN. In these roles, Andrew helps develop efficient, effective and long-term relations between universities and the policy world, linking local, sub-national and national scales of academic-policy engagement and aiding multi-level governance.
