We are pleased to announce that the University of Hertfordshire joins UPEN as the newest member of our network.
The University of Hertfordshire, whose main areas of policy focus are public health and arts and humanities, joins 120 other universities, policy organisations and others championing and strengthening the use of academic evidence in policymaking.
Peter Gooden, University of Hertfordshire Director of Research and Enterprise Services and UPEN Institutional Lead, says;
We’re delighted to be joining UPEN. As a university deeply committed to research that makes a real-world difference, we see this as an important opportunity to strengthen the connection between our academic expertise and the policymakers who can put that knowledge into action.
As well as connecting with policy makers, the University of Hertfordshire is keen to learn from best practice in academic-policy engagement from other universities.
Laura Bea, UPEN Head of Membership and Network Development, says;
It’s great to have the University of Hertfordshire join UPEN. Its focus on applied research, innovation, and regional partnerships adds real strength to our collective mission to support evidence‑informed policy. We’re pleased to welcome the institution into the network.
We encourage all our members to extend a warm welcome to the University of Hertfordshire and new colleagues.
