Who should join?

UPEN is open to UK universities to join. It will be of particular benefit to those universities seeking to engage with policymakers and increase the policy impact of their research.

In joining, members agree to provide contact details of one or more individuals who will take responsibility to identify relevant experts in their institutions who are able to take up different opportunities.

There is no cost of joining UPEN, and it is expected that UPEN knowledge exchange events will be free to attend. Some opportunities identified by UPEN for its members (e.g. secondments for staff and students) may have associated costs.

Why join?

The purpose of acting as a more formalised network is to provide greater coherence in our interactions and provide a more coordinated, efficient, and credible offer to the UK Government and UK Parliament.

This is in response to demand from both these bodies to see more coordination between universities in their interactions with public policy.

Ultimately, we intend this to enhance our engagement with public policy and thus increase the amount of public policy impact from each of our universities.

If you wish to join UPEN, please fill in the form or contact Kayleigh Renberg-Fawcett secretariat@upen.ac.uk
